loved this story i used to live in paddington gardens mason street. When we were kids my brothers used to tell me they played in the tunnels in the 1960s but wouldnt let us follow them and they said they wrote there names on walls there. It must have been these tunnels because there were army barracks in our street and houses on the other side of our tenements and i remember when we were kids then and me mum used to say that in the houses thepeople who lived in them could here knocking noises underneath the cellars and some could see these tunnels but didnt know that they were the williamson tunnels.I used to love living in these tenements when i was a kid and you could see all the welsh mountains and new brighton tower and the cathedrals the view was brillaint and then when i hear the stories of the williamson tunnels and am so proud to have been born and bred in paddington gardens the best years of my life.
